The Peters Township Park and Recreation Department made the following announcements.

“SPRING INTO EARTH DAY” PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

(AGES 3 TO 5 YEARS)

Minimum 6 – Maximum 20

Celebrate Earth Day and the spring season with a story, craft, and hike through the park (weather permitting). Pre-registration is required: www.peterstownship.com. Provided by the Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department.

Day: Thursday, April 20

Time: 10 to 11 a.m.

Fee: $5 Member / $8 Non-Member (per child)

Location: Community Recreation Center

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, April 18

FRIDAY NIGHT FLICKS

Join the Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department at the Community Recreation Center for a family movie night. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided; just bring along a pillow or blanket to sit on. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required: www.peterstownship.com.

Dates:   Friday, April 21 - Storks (rated PG)

Time:    6:30 p.m. (movie begins at 7 p.m.)

Snack Fee: $3 Member/ $5 Non-Member

Bunny Hop

(Ages 9 and under)

Join us at the Peters Township Community Recreation Center for a fun-filled morning with the Easter Bunny, games, crafts and more…Fun for the whole family! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.

Day: Saturday, April 8      

Time: 10 a.m. to Noon

Fee: $5 Resident /$8 Non-Resident (per child)

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, April 5


EASTER EGG SCRAMBLE

Following the Bunny Hop, join us at our annual Egg Hunt in Peterswood Park (near Shelter 4). Bring your own basket and hunt in age appropriate groups. The event will be held inside the Community Recreation Center in case of inclement weather. Pre-registration is required.

Day: Saturday, April 8

Age Groups:

2 and under……..1 p.m.

3 – 5 years………..1:15 p.m.

6 – 9 years………..1:30 p.m.

Fee: $5 Resident / $8 Non-Resident (per child)

 ONE-DAY BUS TRIP:

OUT AND ABOUT IN DEEP CREEK

Enjoy a leisurely ride through the Appalachian Mountains to beautiful Garrett County, MD. The highlight of this trip is sure to be the ride on a chairlift to the top of Marsh Mountain overlooking Deep Creek Lake. Relax at the Wisp Resort, eat lunch, and enjoy the spectacular views! We will also visit the High Country Creamery and Market, the Grantsville Museum, and the Simon Pearce Glass Blowing Factory. Meander through the unique shops in the town of Oakland and visit Garrett Historical Museum, Oakland B&O Museum and the Transportation Museum. We will end the day with a stop at Bear Creek Traders, and finally enjoy a scoop of ice cream at Huey’s Ice Cream. Trip provided by the Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department and Lenzner Tour & Travel.
