Each year Elizabeth Borough and veterans host one of the nicest Memorial Day celebrations in the area.

ElizMem1
Elizabeth Area police canines and handlers received a large round of applause as they opened the Memorial Day parade.

On the weekend prior to Memorial Day, the veterans decorated and performed a 21-gun salute at all of the war and veteran memorial sites in the Elizabeth area.

A formal reception was held at Rock Run Inn to honor veterans, to present awards, and to welcome guest speaker Brigadier General Antnony Carrelli.

A parade was held in Elizabeth on Memorial Day morning followed by festivities at the Elizabeth waterfront. Wreaths were presented and laid on the water in memory of those who have passed. A community luncheon sponsored by the veterans and the borough followed at the Elizabeth Fire Hall.
