What do you get when you mix together 171 vendor booths, entertainment, a wide selection of food, arts & crafts, children’s activities—and just for good measure—topped off with fireworks? A recipe for another successful Community Day in Peters Township!

On Saturday, June 25, the Peters Township community had the opportunity to gather together to renew friendships and have a great time at the 38th Annual Community Day, held in Peterswood Park.
The day was officially started with a superb rendition of the National Anthem, sung by Alexis DiLucia, who will be a sophomore at Peters Township High School in the 2016-17 school year. She has a magnificent voice, and surely will have a bright future sharing her talent in other venues.
Then came a ribbon-cutting ceremony to acknowledge completion of the newly replaced Picnic Shelter #1 (see photo).
For the remainder of the day, there was an array of activities to keep adults and children engaged, such as chainsaw sculpture carving, an airbrush tattoo artist, a magician, visits by Captain America and Spiderman characters, and balloon art.
Tom Lamb, Pat Septak, and Clinton Clegg took turns providing the musical entertainment.
Special thanks go out to Peters Township Commissioners, the Township Parks and Recreation Department, and Public Works Department for all their preparations and implementation of plans. Of course, the police, firemen, and paramedics were there to display their equipment, and ensure the safety of the public.
