The Charleroi Area Historical Society, Inc. is pleased to announce that a series of weekly Friends of the Coyle (FOTC) meetings have been taking place over the last couple of months to discuss the ongoing support of the 'Save the Coyle' effort.

This project is the revitalizing anchor attraction in Charleroi's National Register of Historic Places Historic District. The Coyle is the last still-intact, still-restorable historic landmark theater in the mid-Mon Valley.

For the May, June, and July weekly meetings, FOTC President Kenneth Thompson has welcomed the supporters attending .

Updates on the ongoing legal situation regarding the 'Save the Coyle' effort, on varied communications and correspondence between positive-minded supporters, and any other news related to the 'Save the Coyle' effort were presented.

The progress of the gofundme site - https://www.gofundme.com/25x77cws - was discussed as having met the initial goal of $2,500 and is still ongoing – now reported to be $2,600. It was noted that those who do not do online contributions can send their donations to the CAHS, Inc., ATTN: FOTC, 807 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, PA 15022.

The FOTC Event fundraising committee representatives gave reports, and a listing of possible and current events and efforts were discussed in depth. Volunteers reported on what they still needed to ascertain and further discussion related to those efforts, and the lead coordinators of the fundraising committee were appointed by the attendees. CAHS, Inc. had been supplied with a formal letter for the volunteers to use to help identify them and give contact information for contributors if it is needed.

A benefit concert for the Coyle is slated for September 23 at the Geyer Theater. Other fundraising efforts are being generated, and will be announced in the near future.

Anyone wishing to join the pro-Coyle support group of the 'Save the Coyle' effort may call CAHS, Inc. at 724-483-4961 and leave their contact information, and much more information can be gained through the online Facebook sites found at:
