Washington County District Attorney Eugene A. Vittone announced the swearing in of three new assistant district attorneys.
Judge John F. DiSalle administered the oath of office to Megan Faust, Esq. and Rachel Wheeler, Esq. Judge Michael Lucas administered the oath of office to Adam Yarussi, Esq.
As assistant district attorneys, these individuals will be responsible for assisting law enforcement with investigations, prosecuting criminal cases in the Court of Common Pleas of Washington County, and administering justice in the criminal justice system.
Megan Faust will be responsible for prosecuting all juvenile criminal cases. Megan is a graduate of W & J College with a degree in business administration. She attended the Dickinson School of Law and is a Washington native.
Rachel Wheeler fills a newly created assistant district attorney’s position with general trial responsibilities. Ms. Wheeler is a summa cum laude graduate of the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a degree in forensic accounting.
Adam Yarussi fills a newly created assistant district attorneys position with general trial responsibilities. Mr. Yarussi is a summa cum laude graduate of the California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English. He is a cum laude graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
“My goal in creating these new prosecutorial positions was to be able to provide assistant district attorneys at the earliest possible point in the criminal justice system, which is the preliminary hearing. We looked for and were fortunate to find, excellent capable trial attorneys to fill these positions. I have no doubt that they will provide great public service to the residents of Washington County and will quickly become great assets to the office.” District Attorney Vittone stated.
