Children and Teen Summer Reading Program
Kick-Off and Sign-Up Party
When: Saturday, June 11, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Cost: $5/child to register for a Summer Reading Program
Our Children’s “On Your Mark, Get Set … Read!” Summer Reading Program (SRP) runs for 8 fun-filled weeks from June 27 – August 19. We’ll explore sports, games and movement through books, activities, science experiments, art projects and more. Every child, whether a sports fan or not, will find something to love about our program this year!
Miniature Garden Demonstration
When: Tuesday, June 14 from 7 - 8:45 p.m.
Cost: $5
Presented by: Nancy Vejlstrup, Exhibit Designer for Phipps Conservatory, Carnegie Science Center and Carnegie Museum of Natural History
Come and be inspired by one of the hottest trends in tabletop gardening! You'll learn how to create a world in miniature, inspired by nature for your enjoyment both indoors or out. The miniature garden demonstration will feature choosing a theme for your garden, selecting the right container, locating supplies, and choosing the correct mosses and plants. Participants will receive handouts and information to enable them to create their own gardens at home. All garden examples made during the classes will be auctioned off at the end of class to benefit the library. Register at the library's circulation desk.
Terrarium Garden Demonstration
When: Tuesday, June 21 from 7 - 8:45 p.m.

What Is Hospice Care?
When: Thursday, June 23 from 7 - 8 p.m.
Presented by: April Wolfe, Volunteer Director, Three Rivers Hospice
Join us for a conversation about hospice care. April Wolfe will discuss how hospice care is different from other medical care and what it offers both for a person with a life-limiting illness and his or her family. She will also talk about what to look for when considering a hospice care alternative and the important questions that should be asked at any potential hospice care facility.
