West Newton Public Library announces upcoming events.
The West Newton Public Library would like to invite you to come and ride the Polar Express on Saturday December 19th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Le Grande Banquet Room, located on South Second Street in West Newton. Come and spend the morning watching the Polar Express and then have lunch with the jolly old man himself. Santa Claus will be arriving to have lunch with everyone in attendance and to talk to all the children.
The event is free to the public, however reservations are required. Your train ticket will need to be picked up at the Library by December 12th to be able to board the train. Parents are required to stay for the program.
Story Hour – Saturday, November 21st at 10 a.m.
Come and spend the morning with a new twist on the story of Thanksgiving. Our former Mayor of West Newton, George Thuransky, will be our guest story teller for the day. George will be reading the story of the Pilgrim Cat Carol Peacok. Come and find out what happens to this little tabby cat. There will also be holiday children’s activities and snacks for all those who attend. It will also be a great opportunity for your child to sign up for their very own Westmoreland Library Network Card while in attendance!
Christmas Open House on Saturday November 28th from 5 – 8 p.m. The event will coincide with the West Newton Miracle on Main Street Light-Up Night Festival. We are also accepting memorial donations for the holidays for a loved one. It is a great time of year to remember a special someone with a book. The library will also be holding a book sale with paper backs for just 25 cents and hard backs just a $1.
