Donora Public Library’s schedule of events for August is listed below. All programs are free of charge. For more details, come in or contact us!
BOOK GROUP
Just what makes a job suitable for a woman? Did Cordelia Gray perform hers appropriately? Does your grandmother's life explain your mother's behavior, now that you've had time to think about it?
These questions and more could be at the heart of the Donora Public Library's Book Group discussions to be held 3:30-4:30 p.m., August 20 (An Unsuitable Job for a Woman, by P. D. James) and September 17 (Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls). Put us on your calendar, come down, join in and opine. We will have extra copies for you to check out and read, and we look forward to hearing what you make of these books!
BRIDGE GROUP
We're having lots of fun meeting and learning the game of bridge, and we would love to have you join us. We'll provide the snacks and the cards; you bring your interest in bridge, your sense of humor, and your keenly competitive edge. You need not be a certified card sharp to attend... Just be willing to play and learn this fascinating game. We meet on the second and fourth Thursdays every month, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
KNIT & CROCHET GROUP
So, you used to know how, but you forgot? You were supposed to learn how, but never did? You will be right at home with us! We have skilled members who can get you going in no time, and we can relate to (and translate) any pattern frustration. We even have free yarn, hooks, and needles you can use here while you get acquainted with knitting or crocheting. We meet right after Bridge, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and we hope you'll join us!
