. Below is their schedule of events for December.

No School Fun Day - Monday, December 1 at 1 p.m.

Come to the library to make a gingerbread house just in time for the holidays! Cartons provided, but please bring one can of icing and one bag of candy to share with the group. Registration required. For grades K-6.

Bouncing Babies and Books - Tuesday December 2 and December 9 at 10:30 a.m.

This storytime, for babies birth-24 months, will include a book, singing, musical instruments, and a lot of fun for you and your baby! It’s a great way to spend time with your little one while meeting new caregivers or meeting up with old friends. No registration required.

Tales and Tunes - Tuesday December 2 and December 9 at 11:30 a.m.

No talking...only singing! Children will be introduced to rhythm, beats, sounds and notes through the use of musical instruments and parachute play. Even our featured story will be sung. Geared toward toddlers and preschoolers. No registration required.

Science Chefs (K-3) - Wednesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Those in grades K-3 can learn about science in a new and tasty way. We will travel to different countries while learning the science of cooking. Explore science experiments to do in your kitchen, followed by an easy-to-make recipe using food from the experiment. Registration requested.

Teen Books & Baking Wednesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Bring your favorite mug and a book, graphic novel, comic, or whatever else you are reading. We will talk about what we are reading while we bake and eat delicious microwave mug desserts! FREE - Registration is requested.

Tales for 2s and 3s - Thursday, December 4 and December 11 at 10:30 a.m.

A storytime specifically geared for toddlers who are 24-36 months old with a caregiver. We will read great stories, sing, and have music, movement, and fun! Your toddler will love meeting new storytime buddies!

PJ Family Storytime - Thursday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Dress the kids in their pajamas and head to the library for our new evening family storytime that will be held every other week! Stories, songs, musical instruments, parachute play, bubbles, and fun for the entire family!

Preschool Alphabet Parade - Friday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m.

Fun stories, songs, activities, and a craft for children ages 3-5 with a caregiver. We will travel through the alphabet and feature a letter each week. Children are welcome to bring an object to storytime that begins with our weekly featured letter! New for fall: lower case alphabet/craft.

Drop and Shop Saturday - Saturday, December 6 at 11 a.m.

Bring your children, ages 4-7, to the library for some fun while you power shop for a few hours! They will make holiday crafts, participate in a storytime, play holiday games, and watch a holiday show! Please pack a lunch and a drink for your child. Cell phone numbers must be provided. Registration required.

Teen Craft Night - Monday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Perler Beads -- Use those melty perler beads to create your favorite characters, symbols, or anything else you would like! Turn whatever you make into a key chain, necklace, fun headband, a tree ornament, or whatever you can think of! FREE - Online registration requested.

Brushes Before Bedtime - Wednesday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Family Art Night / Registration requested. Join us for a night of family painting and leave with a masterpiece designed by your entire family! We provide all of the supplies and art smocks…your family provides the creativity and fun! No age limit requirements. A “how to draw” segment will be included in each program.

Friends of BBPL Meeting - Thursday, December 11 at 7 p.m.

The Friends of BBPL are looking for members to help organize fundraising events, volunteer at library programs and be an advocate of the Library with the Baldwin Community. We will be watching The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, rated PG-13.

Ho Ho Holiday Party - Saturday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m.

This December, we’re combining holiday cheer with our Center Stage Spotlighters performance. Come and see our reader’s theater group perform in a holiday play, join in a sing-along, enjoy cookies and refreshments, and even a visit from a jolly man in a red suit! Bring your camera to capture your child’s special memory! Registration required.
