The summer reading program came to an end with 130 parents and children participating in a field trip to the Carnegie Science Center. Thanks to everyone involved with our summer program. We hope that you will join us in the future.

FITS (Furlough Into Service) completed the painting and outside repairs on the library windows and doors. The effort really brightened the façade.

Special thanks to all volunteers and businesses who contributed to the success of the Ladies of the ‘80s Charleroi business crawl.

September 1: The Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day.

September 3: Friends of the John K. Tener Library will meet in the children’s section of the Library. New members are always welcome to join us.

September 10: Clicks for Cash. The Washington County Community Foundation hosts its annual day of giving to support local charities. During this one-day event, each donation you make to the John K. Tener Library via www.wccfgives.org will be increased by a percentage of a bonus pool. Funding for the match pool is provided by WCCF Gives sponsors and anonymous Foundation contributors.

September 18: Book Club will meet on at 5:45 p.m. For information about the book club, contact the library.

October 4: Friends of the John K. Tener Library Cash Bash will be held at the North Charleroi Fire Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. Prize drawings start at 6 p.m. There will be food, door prizes, a Chinese auction, and more. Tickets are $20/each and can be purchased by visiting the Library; contacting a Friends committee member; visiting the Library’s Facebook page and messaging the administrator; or emailing friendsofthejohnktenerlibrary@yahoo.com. You need not be present to win.
