Friends of the Monongahela Area Library are teaming up with Chris Grilli of Grilli's Studio to offer a pet photo fundraiser. The theme will be pets in Halloween costume finery.
People may also be included. It will take place at the Monongahela Area library on Saturday, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Reservations may be made by calling Sharon at 724-258-8150 up to 7 p.m. Walk-ins will also be accepted. The price of the pictures is as follows: $20 cash for one 8x10 and 8 wallets or 2 5x7s and 8 wallets. This event benefits Monongahela Area Library. The public may vote on the pet in the best costume from October 20 through October 31 at the Monongahela Area Library. A book on pets will be put into the children's section of the library plated in honor of the winning pet.
Book bites book club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. to discuss a book mutually agreed upon by club members. September's book is Rules of Civility by Towles and October's book is Smokin' Seventeen by Evanovich. Call the library to order a copy of the book and make sure you are included in this exciting discussion group.
Story time will begin again on September 17 at 11 a.m. for children aged 30 months to 5 years.
The library is now accepting book donations for the fall Fleatique book sale which will occur on Saturday, October 4. We take gently used hard and soft cover books. Fiction and non-fiction are happily accepted. We do not accept magazines, encyclopedias, or textbooks. The library is also offering Fleatique spaces at $15 per space. Spaces are limited, so call the library to reserve your space early. First come, first served spaces are reserved on a cash-only basis. You provide your own tables and chairs.
Come join in on the fun at the Writers Club. They meet the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the activities room at Monongahela Area Library. Writers of fiction and non-fiction are welcome.
