Meetings
- The Library Board will meet on Monday, August 4 at 5 p.m. in the board room.
- Friends of the Library will meet on Wednesday, August 13 at 5 p.m. in the children’s section of the Library. Come join us; new members are always welcome.
2014 Summer Reading Program Events
The following special events (all begin at 11:30 a.m., unless otherwise noted) are scheduled:
- August 6 – Field trip: Bring mom and dad along on a visit to Carnegie Science Center. Space is limited. Sign up early.
- August 13 – Back-to-School Bingo: Play book bingo and win needed school supplies.
- August 20 (6:05 p.m.) – Library Night at the Wild Things: Consol Energy Park, Washington. Tickets for the Wild Things v. River City Rascals doubleheader are available for our summer readers and their families.
Events
- Ladies of the ‘80s Shop Crawl – Charleroi businesses are participating. Thursday, August 28 from 5 – 9 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the library. There will be food, drinks, dancing and prizes. A limited number of tickets ($5 each) are available. Be sure to get yours early. Further information can be found on the Charleroi Borough website at www.charleroiboro.org.
- Friends of the John K. Tener Library Cash Bash - Saturday, October 4 at the North Charleroi Fire Hall, 5 p.m. Prize drawings start at 6 p.m.; you need not be present to win. There will be food, door prizes, a Chinese auction, and more. Tickets are $20/each and can be purchased by visiting the Library; contacting a Friends committee member; visiting the Library’s Facebook page (John K. Tener Library) and messaging the administrator; or emailing friendsofthejohnktenerlibrary@yahoo.com. Proceeds benefit the children’s section of the Library.
