The Young Professionals of the Mon Valley (YPMV), a new group formed under the umbrella of the Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce (MVRCC), had a tremendous turnout for its first and second meetings held over the summer.

The group is planning a launch event for Thursday, September 24 to be held at Off the Wall Arts in Charleroi. The Young Professionals of the Mon Valley group will have its leadership and bylaws in place in time for the official introduction and invites young professionals to attend this event or become involved in the organization.
Ryan Galiotto, a financial advisor with Fields Financial and owner of IVM, and Mario Porreca of Cleanse Pittsburgh, came to Chamber President Jim Protin with the idea. It was presented to the Chamber Board of Directors, who enthusiastically gave their approval to move forward. There will be a nominal fee to belong to the YPMV, however regular Chamber membership will include participation of one individual per business in the group at no charge.
“Some of the goals in mind are to create opportunities to meet like- minded young professionals in the area, network with local business and government professionals, and develop professional skills. The group will collectively have a voice in the community,” said Ryan Galiotto.

An event flyer will be posted at www.mvrchamber.org and can also be followed on the Chamber’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Membership in the new group is open to all interested parties - MVRCC membership is not a prerequisite. The suggested age is 21-40.
