DeLattre Corporation was selected for the annual Excellence in Business Award and was accepted by Martin DeLattre, president, and his daughter, Anna DeLattre, who serves as marketing director for the firm. The Auxiliary of Mon Vale Health Resources was honored with the Chamber's Regional Service Award as an outstanding non-profit entity in the mid-Mon Valley. Corinne Laboon, vice president of marketing and community relations at Mon Valley Hospital, accepted the award, along with Kay Blair, president of the Auxiliary. The Shining Star Award went to the Whiten family, representing three generations of outstanding volunteerism and community service. The late Sean Whiten, who died unexpectantly in 2008 while training firefighters, was recognized during the presentation. Bob Whiten, Jr. accepted the award on behalf of his father, Bob Whiten Sr., mother, Sylvia Whiten, his wife and son, Janice and Ian, and his sister-in-law and nephew, Linda and Sean-Robert Whiten, and his late brother, Sean.

The introductions and award presentations were made by Deb Keefer, Director, and Armand Ferrara, Chamber President. The Shining Star Award was presented by Bill Lee, the Chamber's 2013 Shining Star recipient.

"It was cast of stars," said Deb Keefer, Executive Director. "Every awardee has made remarkable contributions to business, progress and quality of life in our Mon Valley."

The event's main sponsor was Monongahela Valley Hospital, and presentation sponsors were Charleroi Federal Savings Bank, First Federal Savings Bank, and Chamber Choice.
