Mrs. Jennie Eicker, with plenty of help from parents, other PTA members, and the students, had the classroom well-stocked with items for students friends and family members.

On Friday, January 26, 2018 the Canon-McMillan and Ringgold High School boys varsity basketball teams will play each other in the inaugural “Brian Anselmino Memorial Basketball Game.” The game will be held in the Canon-McMillian gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Brian Anselmino was a standout basketball player at Ringgold high school in the mid 1980’s and later became a Canonsburg resident where he coached youth baseball and was a community volunteer. Anselmino died in an automobile accident in 2014.

This year’s game will be the first in what is expected to be an annual matchup between the two school districts that were such a big part of Anselmino’s life. Next year’s game will be held at Ringgold.

The two schools are dedicating this annual matchup to help raise funds for the Brian Anselmino Memorial Fund (BAMF). A portion of the proceeds from the basketball game will benefit the BAMF which provides two $5,000 scholarships annually to a Ringgold student and a Canon-McMillan student. Fans in attendance can purchase t-shirts, golf towels, hats, 50/50 raffle tickets, concessions and more.

For more information about the BAMF, please visit the website www.briananselmino.org .
