On Saturday April 2nd, Pittsburgh's number one interactive theater company, Mystery's Most Wanted, put on a very entertaining show at Rockwell's Red Lion in Elizabeth Borough.
Montana Marie was shot…but who dunnit? |
Lynn, one of the family owners of the Red Lion, said they try to put on at 3-4 shows a year, which bring in around 60 people per show, and while this show only had 25, it was still a big hit.
Samantha Markovich and Stephanie Guffey, dressed in their western gear, helped to serve the guests that attended. With a western-themed menu that included chili, cornbread, salad, western corn, BBQ ribs, fried chicken, and an apple caramel empanada with vanilla ice cream on the side, the show proceeded around the audience.
‘Montana Marie Gets Gunned Down At Three’ was the name of the murder mystery. The actors not only pulled the audience in by involving them, but also enjoyed each others’ acting as well. With clever quips and funny punchlines, you couldn't help but to play along, even when "Ranchhand Rex" performed his entertaining rendition of "Stand By Your Man."
Montana Marie was played by Barbara Williams and was a very well-played character. Charlie Blind-Eagle was played by Mark McConnell, and his character was lovable and witty. Johnny Gallagher played Ranchhand Rex and portrayed a very trusting leader. Chris Bondi played Hector Pepe Ricardo Juanito Gonzales, and this character had the audience in stitches with his hilarious misuse of words. Lastly, Miss Sally Mae Wilkins was played by Kathy Miller Haines, and she connected well with her character and showed great confidence throughout.
In the beautifully set downstairs dining room of the Red Lion, this was a night well worth the $50 per ticket, as no one went hungry or was overcome with boredom, so don't hesitate to book the next murder mystery offered, because you never know "who dunnit!”
