The 2018 Pentecost Sacred Arts Festival, a showcase of 40 original sacred artworks, literary readings and musical performances, will be held May 16-20 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Scott Township.

Visitors to this free, five-day festival will experience a unique encounter with the sacred arts in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Linus Meldrum, MFA, this year’s juror for the art exhibition, will give a framing talk on the opening evening of the festival titled “Sacred Art: Bread and Body.”

The culmination of this year’s PSAF occurs on Pentecost Sunday, May 20 with the 11:30 a.m. “Mass of Hope,” an original composition in the jazz idiom by Joe Negri, nationally renowned jazz guitarist and television personality. Literary performances feature readings by Ryan

Wilson, award-winning poet and professor of literature at CUA, Washington, DC; Sam Hazo, poet laureate of Pennsylvania and Professor Emeritus of Duquesne University; and Mike Aquilina, poet, editor, television host and author. Musical performances at the PSAF include Mike Gallagher, local Pittsburgh folk singer and Duo Dulce, a unique violin and flute ensemble.

View the entire schedule of events at www.olgscott.org. Original artworks, books and CDs will be available for purchase throughout the festival. The 2018 PSAF is free to the public.
