The Pleasant Hills Roller Hockey League (PHRHL) is currently registering teams for the Summer 2024 season. The league has several divisions for ages 4-17.  Some seasons, with enough interest, the league coordinates an adult division for players 18+. The teams play on an outdoor sports court rink and play in a 4 on 4 style to give everyone ample playing time. PHRHL is a recreational league that strives to ensure every player has fun and learns a few things along the way! 

On January 17, 2024, Thomas Jefferson High School sophomore Joey Nix rolled the first 300 game in the Jaguar bowling team's history.

LADIES RYDER CUP

Money awards went to three teams in the Youghiogheny Country Club Ladies ‘Ryder Cup’ tournament. Penny Natale and Vickie McDevitt claimed victory over Lori Duncan and Angie Piesik (2nd); Linda Byers and Valerie Wilson (3rd) with scores of 67, 71, and 73, respectively.  The three six-hole team event consisted of better ball, alternate shot and scramble. Pictured above are Natale and McDevitt.

The class of 2023 represents the 23rd year of the Belle Vernon Area (BVA) Football Hall of Fame. Committee spokesperson Steve Russell announced the induction of five new members:  three All Conference players from the past, a longtime defensive BVA coach, and a former BVA Football Hall of Fame committee member. Two of the players went on to Ivy League schools to continue their football exploits. 

The induction ceremony will be held at half-time during the BVA Leopards versus the McKeesport Tigers contest on Friday, September 8 with a 7:00PM kickoff.

The BVA Football Hall of Fame credo is to preserve and honor the student athletes, teams, coaches, and contributors who have helped bring recognition and excellence to BVA’s storied football program.  As an added feature since 2018, BVA football record holders in major categories have been compiled and updated yearly in a BVA Football Hall of Fame program book.
