While cleaning out his parents’ attic, Carleton Young discovered an enormous collection of letters written during the Civil War by two soldiers. After spending about five years transcribing the letters with the help of friends, the retired history teacher compiled their stories into the book ‘Voices from the Attic: The Williamstown Boys in the Civil War.’

The Pleasant Hills Garden Club will hold a covered dish pot luck on Monday, December 12, 2016 starting at 12:30 p.m.

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Registered Nurses Club held their 24th Veterans Day Memorial Service at the South Park Nursing War Memorials on Corrigan Drive. Sue Means, Allegheny County Council, Districts read the names of 14 club members who served in the Military Forces and those who served as Cadets.
