The 4th of July is always a great time to celebrate with friends and family, and one of South Park's local BMX teams, Thunder Racing, had many reasons to celebrate this 4th of July weekend - the 2014 USA BMX Stars and Stripes BMX National took place July 4th – 6th at the South Park BMX track.

Over 1,200 amateur riders ranging in age from 2 to 72 as well as top pros and competitors from the 2012 Olympic Games and around the country came to compete on the legendary South Park BMX track in the chase for the #1 championship title in USA BMX.
Thunder Racing put on an explosive display of BMX skills, speed and stamina all weekend, with several riders clutching big wins and many atop the podium in rock-star fashion! The outstanding performances from everyone on the team set the stage for the team to end the weekend with their own grand finale—a team sheet that soared to 183 points on Sunday (topping last year's score and win at home) to earn the 1st Place Bike Shop team win again this year, and the coveted parade lap at the Las Vegas National!
Thunder Racing is a nationally recognized team with a roster of 25 riders and is supported by local and national sponsors. The team is currently ranked 12th in the nation and is looking to clench a top 10 position with upcoming races in Michigan, Kentucky and Florida before heading to the Tulsa Grand Championship in November.
