‘Ladies in Red” Golf Tourney Hosted by YCC

Youghiogheny 18 Hole Ladies’ Golf Association recently hosted “Ladies in Red” in honor of former member, Joanne DeTorre. Penny Natale assisted Betty Lee Hancsak in organizing the annual event.

The Stapleford format awarded one point for net bogie, two points for net par, three points for net birdie, and four points for net eagle. Top winners were Jan DeCecco, Maureen Fiore, and Vickie McDevitt with respective points of 41, 37, and 34. Skill prizes went to Hee Soo Kim, closest to the flag on # 13; Donna Dazzel and Josie Crudo, closest to the flag on # 5 and #7; Sara Kostelac, Sue Hobart and Linda Byers, longest putts on #9, #15 and #18.  The ladies raised $1,200 for Easter Seals, Detorre’s favorite charity.

Scramble Held on Closing Day at YCC
Youghiogheny Country Club Women’s Nine Hole Golf League members played a scramble on Closing Day. Winners were Janet Baum, Carole Friend, Pat Sheleheda, Jean Joseph. Second prize winners were Patty Decima, Angie Zalakar and Judi Murray. ‘Longest Drive’ was won by Jean Joseph, ‘Closest to the Leaf’ was Patty Decima and ‘Most Improved Golfer’ is Judi Murray. The officers for season 2019 are Angie Zalakar - Ringers, Patty Decima - Treasurer, Rose Marie Zuro - Publicity, Jan Baum - Past Chairman, Carole Friend - Rally for the Cure, Pat Sheleheda - Awards, Jean Joseph - Chairman and Rally for the Cure, Judi Murray - Guest Day.
