Sports

The South Park Eagles high school varsity baseball team finished with a 138 record and finished 3rd in the conference with a 9 - 5 record.

The Eagles were lead by junior pitcher Kyle Thompson with a 7 - 3 record and a .093 ERA. Others pitchers that were contributors were sophomore Tyler Bywalski, 5 - 1 and a 1.89 ERA, and also Junior Zach Schmader had 10 appearances with a 3.31 ERA.

The offense was lead by junior Adam Morris: .426 average and 20 RBIs, 23 runs, 11 stolen bases and 5 doubles. Mitchell Roell had a .421 average and 10 RBIs. Sophomore Tyler Bywalski batted .407, and had 16 runs and 16 RBIs. Other contributors were Josh Wagner: .371; Mike Kentzel: .304; Bryce Groff: .290; and Kyle Thompson: .278. The team lost in the first round of the playoffs to Perennial Power West Allegheny, 2 - 0. The team only graduated three seniors this year: Zach Panian, Jordan Como, and Tyler Miller.
