Seniors

At least sx Meals on Wheels volunteers are needed each day to deliver hot meals from the Monongahela Senior Center on Main Street to more than 75 people in the area.

For some of these people, the delivery person may be their only human contact for the day. Without the volunteers, there would be no home-delivered meals.

Drivers and “runners” are needed on each of the three routes. Anyone with a vehicle and a valid driver’s license can volunteer to be a driver. Runners take the meals to the person’s door while drivers stay with their vehicle. Drivers are reimbursed 44 cents a mile. Some drivers choose to donate this back to the program.

Volunteers can deliver every day, or once a week, or just one or two days a month. Volunteers are also needed to help with serving meals at Monongahela Senior Center. All help is much appreciated. To volunteer, call Alice Grimes at the Center at 724-258-9511.
