School News

Mrs. Moranelli's first grade class at Ringgold Elementary School North (RESN) read the stories "Sea Animals" and “Starfish.” The class enjoyed the stories very much. They were very impressed by the stories’ illustrations, done by artist Robin Brinkman.

Pleasant Hills Middle School teacher Rebecca Reeb received a grant from PPG Industries in the amount of $1,000 to fund a 3D printer for her applied engineering and technology students.

Travis Chropka’s third grade classroom at Jefferson Elementary had a special guest reader this week. Susan Fancsali, a Pleasant Hills resident and the reigning Miss Allegheny County PA Collegiate 2016, visited the classroom and read the children a book, wearing her pageant crown and sash. She even gave each child a special bookmark in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Third graders at Jefferson Elementary donned their white lab coats (or white t-shirts) with laboratory notebooks in hand and headed to the STEAM Lab to conduct chemical tests for the afternoon. The students have been studying chemical reactions as part of their science unit and were excited to begin their laboratory experiments.
