Maureen Shaw received the Pennsylvania Counselor of the Year award from The Pennsylvania School Counselors Association, who presented Shaw with this honor in February.

After her nomination, Shaw had to submit a video about her life as a school counselor, goals she has accomplished, and success stories. Shaw has served as the lone school counselor for Clairton Middle/High School for the last 10 years. Shaw has a "whatever it takes" approach to her position at Clairton Middle/High School and wants nothing more then success for every student.
