This is an outstanding accomplishment, as the Scholastic Art Awards is one of the most time-honored, prestigious art events and competitions available to students.

A panel of fourteen artists, art educators, and art professionals selected the students’ artwork as the best work submitted by the Pittsburgh Arts Region’s teens. Entries of completed registered artwork in the Pittsburgh region totaled 1,996. The Pittsburgh Arts Region includes all of Allegheny and Butler Counties and is comprised of a panel of judging experts consisting of art professionals, college professors and art educators.

According to Ms. Natalie Fink, TJHS art teacher, “"Brianna is dedicated, heart and soul, to her artwork; we couldn’t be more proud and happy for her and this achievement."

Brianna's work was exhibited at CCAC's North Campus February 6-20, 2016. On February 20, 2016, Brianna was individually recognized and certificated at a closing awards ceremony at the campus. Her Gold Key work is automatically submitted for further adjudication at the national level by the New York City National Committee of Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in March 2016.
