This summer three students from Belle Vernon Area High School traveled with teacher, Ms. Stephanie Flatt to the beautiful country of Costa Rica.

The students were able to do a variety of activities like zip lining through the rainforest, swim in La Fortuna Waterfall, kayak on Lake Arenal, and go whitewater rafting. Along with these activities the students were able to use their Spanish speaking skills to speak to native people, bargain at local markets and order indigenous foods. They also visited Ballena National Park, INBioparque biological station, and the natural hot spring from Volcán Arenal.
