The Ginger Hill Grange recently hosted the 19th annual Scholarship Speech Contest. The event pits student speakers from Bentworth and Ringgold high schools against one another.
The Ginger Hill Grange recently hosted the 19th annual Scholarship Speech Contest. The event pits student speakers from Bentworth and Ringgold high schools against one another.

The preliminary rounds were held at the high schools and the final round was held in the Ginger Hill Grange meeting room in front of an audience of students, family, friends and Grange members.
The topic chosen by the committee this year was “Second Chances” and was judged by a panel consisting of both teachers and Grange members. Monetary scholarship grants from the Grange accompanied winning honors. This year's scholarship winners were:
• Elizabeth Bright (Ringgold) - First Place
• Kera Brown (Bentworth) - Second Place
• Leanne Fries (Ringgold) - Third Place

The Ginger Hill Grange is committed to helping the community and improving the education of our students. This annual contest is meant not only to furnish financial aid for college, but also to develop invaluable educational skills. The Grange hopes that all who participated have gained from the experience. Congratulations to the winners and all who participated.
