The opportunity to take part in the Carnegie Hall performance series is through the 2013 American High School Honors Performance Series. The series showcases some of the most talented student performers in high school today, and Sarah will be part of a group of students who come from all over the United States, Canada, and select international schools. The program, which brings together the most elite talent from across the country, was developed to challenge students to perform at their very best.
In February, students will spend five days in New York preparing for their performance under the direction of a world-renowned conductor, be heard by specially invited collegiate music program representatives, participate in a music seminar featuring an industry professional and experience New York by seeing a Broadway show, participating in guided sightseeing, and attending a nationally televised morning show.
Sarah is proud to have been chosen to perform as part of the Honors Choir. It began last spring when she was nominated by Ringgold Choral Director, Mrs. Diane Ader. Nominees were then invited to submit an application, performance biography and audition recording which were reviewed by an expert board of music professionals for final selection.
A multi-faceted performer, Sarah privately studies voice, plays the piano, and has studied dance since the age of three. She has performed in school musicals since the eighth grade, which included several lead roles. Sarah is a member of the Ringgold High School Choir, International Thespian Society, National Honor Society, GEAR, Interact Club, and Tennis Team and is co-captain of the Ringgold Dance Team. Although still only a junior, Sarah has already decided that her college plans are to pursue a career in music. Sarah is the daughter of John and Lisa Krempasky of Carroll Township.
