The DAR Good Citizen Award was established in 1934. It rewards individuals who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities. Teachers and peers select the students for consideration. Once a student is chosen as the DAR Good Citizen in their school, they are invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program by submitting an essay with an assigned theme.
The following students were the winner in their school districts:
- Andrew Engel, Canon-McMillan
- Morgan Meer, Mt. Lebanon
- Anne Ferry, Upper St. Clair
- Remy Zandier, Thomas Jefferson
Ms. Zandier was selected as the Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter DAR Good Citizen and received a $100 award.
