Elementary students spent Fire Prevention Week learning about fire safety and participating in numerous activities. The culmination of the week was a special visit from the Clairton Volunteer firefighters to the kindergarten classrooms.

The Clairton Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) brought along a fire hat for each student, had an assembly, showed the students their protective gear, and brought a fire truck for them to tour. During the visit, the CVFD discussed with the students family fire plans and what to do if a fire occurs at home, at school, or in a vehicle. Clairton Elementary thanks all the firemen and women for their service.
