School News

At the June 28, 2016 school board meeting, Thomas Jefferson High School graduate Jonathan Kelly was recognized for his educational and career accomplishments.

Mr. Kelly completed his course of study at Thomas Jefferson High School while receiving specially-designed instruction to meet the needs of his educational plan. Jonathan continued his studies through a joint vocational program offered through WJHSD and Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC). As a final component to the program, Jonathan successfully completed an internship at Jefferson Elementary School with the maintenance and custodial staff.

Jonathan made a presentation to the Board of Directors about his time at WJHSD and thanked the school board and district for the opportunities bestowed upon him. At the end of the presentation, School Board President Brian Fernandes presented Jonathan with his high school diploma. Jonathan would love to continue his career at the new TJHS once it is completed, and the district would love to have him remain on staff.
