There is a new church in the Finleyville area. Family Worship Center of Pittsburgh (FWC) has recently moved to 3467 Washington Ave. in Finleyville, PA.

They moved to this new location in November 2015 to accommodate their growth. Their congregation continues to grow, with approximately 70% of their congregants being young adult families.
Pastor John Owen, a graduate of Shiloh Bible Institute in Washington, PA, and his wife, Beverley Owen, started the church in their home in 2009, under their parent church, Centro Familiar de Adoracion (CFA), located in Asuncion, Paraguay in South America. CFA has a total of 88 daughter churches throughout the world, with Family Worship Center of Pittsburgh being their only daughter church in North America.
“All of the churches have the same vision, to lead the lost to Christ through the Disciples of 12 Model,” Beverley said.
They are a contemporary, full gospel church that moves through anointed worship and praise during their services, which is a big part of their ministry, but they believe it all starts with prayer.
“We are a very music ministry-oriented church since we play original and contemporary worship and praise,” Pastor Owen said. “We also believe the heart of this ministry is the power of prayer. It all begins on our knees,” he added.
Their vision is to win the lost for Christ in unity and holiness using all means and resources to fulfill the Great Commission, to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). This vision is carried out by having small home-based life groups using the Disciples of 12 Model. They desire to make each believer a leader through teaching, training and discipleship, through leadership classes, and home-based life groups.
Their church meets for service every Sunday morning at 11 a.m. and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. Classes meet prior to Sunday services.
Their website is currently under construction but can be visited at www.fwcpgh.org.
Family Worship Center invites you to their Easter Sunday service on March 27th, and following the service, there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children. For all who plan to attend, they ask that parents call 724-942-8120 as early as possible so they can get an exact count of all who will be attending.
