St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, located at Sixth Street, Monongahela, has Sunday school classes for children in grades kindergarten through senior high school; the sessions will begin on Sunday, September 13. The senior high students will meet at 9 a.m. and other classes will be in session following the Divine Liturgy.
The annual Fall Adult Education series begins on Friday, September 18. The study will focus on the theme: Eastern Orthodox Spirituality: What we do after we've accepted Jesus. The sessions will meet every Friday for 5 weeks from 7 - 8:15 p.m. in the church basement. The study will be led by the parish priest, Rev. Dr. Edward Pehanich, and will include DVD presentations on "The War Within" and Mysteries of the Jesus Prayer. All are welcome to attend.
The annual parish picnic will be held at Tubby Hall Park in New Eagle on Sunday, September 20 following the Divine Liturgy.
