Zion Lutheran Church in Brentwood has called a second pastor to serve its growing congregation. Rev. Garrett Siemsen joined Zion on July 1st as Assistant Pastor of Family Ministries. His primary focus will be the expansion of ministries to engage the increasing number of younger adults and their families who worship at Zion.
"We are very excited to have Pastor Siemsen coming to be part of the ministry staff of our congregation," says Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Eric Riesen, "Many are unaware of the thousands of congregations in this country and around the world which are filled with young, highly-committed, intelligent, and culturally-engaged Christians. These young Christians also tend to champion a robust theological orthodoxy. One of these young leaders is Garrett Siemsen."
"I'm excited to join Pastor Riesen in ministry and to serve the people of Zion and its community," Pastor Siemsen said. "At a time when churches are tempted to focus on something other than the gospel of Jesus, Zion's faithfulness is both refreshing and encouraging.."
"Our entire congregation, and especially our young families, look forward to working with Pastor Siemsen and the expanded ministry that he will spearhead at Zion," said Congregation President Cheryl Tracy.
Pastor Siemsen is a native of Southern California and a graduate of Pepperdine University and Wartburg Seminary. He previously served at La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church in Scottsdale, AZ. He and his wife, Kristi, reside in Baldwin.
