Behind a peaceful veil of foliage, the home of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God watches over Pittsburgh’s South Hills. This 33-acre dedicated Peace Site has many stories tell revealing an abiding legacy of faith, service and triumph of the spirit.
On Thursday, June 13, the Sisters will welcome visitors into their home for their second “History at Twilight.” The Sisters congregational archivist, Dennis Wodzinski will guide visitors though over 90 years of captivating history focusing on worship spaces and incorporating insights into architectural features, like Mary Immaculate Chapel’s stained glass windows. History at Twilight begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 at the front entrance of the Sisters’ Motherhouse, located at 3603 McRobert’s Road in Whitehall. After the tour, guests are invited to join the Sisters for light refreshments.
