Pierogies, soups and other ethnic favorites will be available every other Friday during Lent (March 1 and 15 ) at Charleroi's Holy Ghost Social Center, 9th St. and Meadow Ave., where you may eat in or take out from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In addition to the fresh potato & cheese pirohi (hot with butter and onions or frozen) and the meatless soups (lima bean, potato, and broccoli cheese), there will also be potato pancakes (with either applesauce or sour cream), hand-breaded fish sandwiches, and coleslaw. Plus, there are three savory surprises - Mexican shrimp bisque, palachinke, and bow ties with cottage cheese – one of which will be featured during the course of the sittings.
