A weeping icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 6th Street, Monongahela on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m.
The icon, from St. George Orthodox Church in Taylor, (Lackawanna County) Pa. has been oozing large amounts of fragrant oil continually for the past eight years. The phenomenon has been witnessed by numerous Orthodox archbishops, bishops, and clergy of many Christian denominations. A service of prayer will begin at 7 p.m. Following the service, Father Mark Leasure, custodian of the icon, will share many of the stories associated with the icon.
