St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, located on 6th Street, Monongahela will observe the ‘Great Feast of the Entry of the Theotokos’ on December 4.
Great Vespers with the Blessing of 5 Loaves, Wheat, Wine and Oil will be celebrated on Monday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 5 at 8:30 a.m.
The parish will also celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas, their patron saint, the week of December 16.
Following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, Dec. 16, the Sunday School students will present their annual Christmas pageant. This year's presentation is "The Three Youths in the Fiery Furnace: A Christmas Story?" Following the pageant, the annual St. Nicholas Day dinner will be served in the church hall including a visit by St. Nicholas with gifts for all the children.
The feast of St. Nicholas of Myra, the 4th century bishop of Myra will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19 . The Vesperal Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom will be celebrated on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
