St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Sixth Street, Monongahela will celebrate their patron saint: St. Nicholas of Myra, on Sunday December 17.
The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the annual Sunday School pageant. The students will give a presentation titled "Who is St. Nicholas" which will highlight the life and ministry of this 4th century bishop. The annual St. Nicholas Day banquet will follow in the church hall with a special appearance by St. Nicholas with gifts for all the children in attendance.
The feast day of St. Nicholas will be further celebrated on Monday, December 18 with a Vesperal Divine Liturgy at 5:30 p.m.
