If you’re looking for something to do on a summer weekend, check out the Festival at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6 at Chapel grounds, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen.
Special highlights for this year include a mini-escape room and a visit by Iceburgh! ‘Escape the Luau’ or ‘Incur the Wrath of Pele’ will operate during the festival hours. Iceburgh will make an appearance at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 6. A Chinese lantern release is scheduled for 10 p.m. on Saturday.
The festival opens at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, immediately following 4 p.m. Mass at the Chapel. Saturday food offerings include sandwiches of homemade hot or sweet sausage, or kielbasa, homemade pierogis, haluski and baked penne pasta, as well as burgers, wings and pizza burgers. Street Level Band will begin entertainment at 6 p.m. and continue until the festival closes at 10 p.m. An outdoor Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
On Sunday, homemade pierogis, halupki, haluski, sausage sandwiches and lasagna will be on the menu as well as outdoor food. Entertainment slated for Sunday includes Ray Jay and the Carousels from noon until 4 p.m. From 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. 2Broke Country Girls will be performing country, rock, blues and comedy.
