New Pact Approved by Supervisors
By Earl Bugaile

Fallowfield Township Supervisors have approved a new three-year contract with the township’s road crew.

At their June monthly meeting, the board accepted the agreement with USW Local 1408-46 that will give each of the department’s three employees an annual $2,500 bonus. Each employee will also pay 10% toward a health care plan. The new contract will run through December 31 of 2015.

In another personnel matter, the supervisors designated K/2 Engineering Company of Uniontown to serve in a four-month capacity as the township’s zoning officers. They will be filling the position of Ronald Large, who is currently on medical leave following an accident.

In a carryover from their May meeting, supervisors approved the posting of a 35-miles-per-hour speed limit along Bentleyville Road. Prior to the meeting there had been no posted speed limit on the road.

The board tabled action on bidding for road repaving because of inadequate time needed for advertising of bids. Supervisors expect to take action at their July meeting.
