On January 7, the Union Township Board conducted its annual reorganization meeting, which set in place officers, appointees, wages, bonding amounts and a variety of other items that will govern their operation throughout calendar year 2013.
On January 7, the Union Township Board conducted its annual reorganization meeting, which set in place officers, appointees, wages, bonding amounts and a variety of other items that will govern their operation throughout calendar year 2013.
All board members were present for this important kickoff meeting. The following elections, appointments, designations, and authorizations were made:
Chairperson: Linda Evans-Boren
Vice Chairperson: Brenda Cushey
Secretary/Assistant Treasurer: Deborah Nygon
Treasurer/Assistant Secretary: Judith Taylor
Road Superintendent: Edward Frye
Township Solicitor: Dennis Makel Esq.
Township Engineer: Chester Engineers (Carl DeiCas)
Township Zoning/BCO/CEO Municipal Consulting Svcs. LLC
Solicitor, Zoning /Hearing Board: Robert Clarke Esq.
Rep. Wash. Co. Tax CC: Larry Spahr
Alternate: John Smida
Rep. Wash. Co. Sewage Council: Harold Ivery
Alternate: Judith Taylor
Emergency Mgt. Coordinator; Leonard Bailey

Also set at the meeting were the Bond amounts required for certain employees and wages.
Two regular business items were addressed at this meeting:
• A policy was approved for paying bills that come due between meetings with approval at the next scheduled meeting.
• Approval of an award to Lutterman Excavating LLC in the amount of $9,000 as the lowest responsible bidder for the demolition of houses (two) at 14 and 16 Stout Street.
