Municipal News

Carroll Twp. held its annual reorganization meeting along with its regular monthly meeting Jan. 7, reappointing Thomas Rapp and James Harrison as Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively.

Rapp and Harrison will also represent the township on the Tri-Community Ambulance Board.

Other appointments include:
Herman Bigi, Solicitor
Dennis Paluso, Solicitor of Planning and Zoning
Widmer Engineering, Engineer
Kimberly Secrete, Animal Control Officer ($250/mo.)
Paul Brand (Chief of Police), Public Safety Director
James Harrison, Hospital Board (Advisory)
Gary Lenzi, Monongahela Chamber of Commerce.

The Supervisors also re-established PNCBank for depositories (all funds) and the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 as the township’s regular monthly meeting at 130 Baird St., Monongahela.

In other business:
• Supervisors announced that Gary Lenzi will attend the State Conference in
Hershey, PA as a voting delegate for Carroll Twp. from April 21-24, 2013.
• The township received $274.17 in overdue taxes, collected by PA Municipal
Service. (Over $3,000 has been collected to date in overdue taxes.)
• The township received a $3,310 grant from the trash collector for recyclables
collected in 2012. (Residents are reminded that the grant amount increases based on the amount residents recycle.)
