Cartwright

Dr. Gary Cartwright, an orthodontist with offices McMurray & Bethel Park, recently awarded four $500 scholarships to four high school seniors; two girls and two boys.

Every year he conducts an essay contest for all past and present patients who are furthering their education. The topic was “What would you like to study after high school and why?” Winners this year: Bryan Sherman of Upper St. Clair, PA, son of Geoff and Maria Sherman, will be attending Duquesne University to study secondary education social studies; Nicholas Chapman of Bentleyville, PA, son of Corey and Jodi Chapman, will be attending the University of Pittsburgh to study computer engineering; Alexandra Wirth of Upper St. Clair, PA, daughter of Gary Wirth, will be attending Slippery Rock University to study recreational therapy; Allie Schmidt of McDonald, PA, daughter of Gary and Terry Schmidt, will be attending the University of Pittsburgh to study chemical engineering. This is the eighteenth year Dr. Cartwright has awarded this scholarship.
