Russell Allridge has provided over 50 Years of service to the local community

The Finleyville Borough Council accepted the resignation of Russell Allridge as their Emergency Management Coordinator.

Mr. Allridge presented a letter of resignation and also suggested that the position be filled by Mr. Jeff Lawrence. Mr. Lawrence is the current President of the Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department. The Council approved the appointment of Mr. Lawrence subject to his acceptance of the position and accepted Mr. Allridge’s resignation with regrets.

The local EMC coordinates activities of Local Emergency Responders with the Washington County Emergency Management Agency in the event of natural or man-made disasters. Emergency care and shelter is provided under the direction of the Local EMC who draws on the resources and equipment provided and stockpiled by the County EMA for disaster use. The local EMC works closely with the 911 center.

Mr. Allridge has held the position of Emergency Manager Coordinator for Finleyville for 28 years and at one time also held this position for both Finleyville Borough and Union Township. He remains a Trustee and Life Member of the Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department with which he now has 54 years of service with 50 of those years as an active firefighter. A grateful community sends its thanks for the many years of volunteer service provided by Russ. 50 years as an active emergency responder speaks of real dedication to the community.
