Local People

The Town and Country Garden Club Scholarship Committee has chosen a student from the Waynesburg Central High School Class of 2018 to be awarded the $1,000 scholarship, presented annually to a qualifying student.

Gabrielle Stewart, of the 125-member graduating class, is the recipient of the scholarship. She ranks first in her graduating class and has held a 4.0 grade point average from 9th grade through 12th grade. She plans to attend Washington and Jefferson College, majoring in biochemistry with a math minor, and aspires to become an anesthesiologist.

Gabby has received many awards and recognitions for academics: Spanish, math, and science. She lettered in track and cheerleading.
