Library News

The Donora Public Library recently announced its May Events.

Board Meeting: Wednesday, May 4th at 6 p.m.

All Programs Are Free To the Public

NEW! P.R.U. (Parents Are Us)

Every Tuesday evening @ 5:30 p.m.

This is a group for parents who need a little adult time with other parents. We will be discussing different topics on parenting, socializing, healthy choices and alternatives, and we’ll just have a good time with other moms and dads.  So if you’re tired of your normal routine and need a break, come join us.

STORY TIME w/ MS. ANGIE

Every Friday @ 11 a.m.

Miss Angie is so excited that spring has arrived, and she and the children have started to plant a wonderful vegetable garden at the Community Garden. They will be visiting their garden on the following dates: 5/13 and 5/27 (weather permitting). If you and your toddler would like to join in on the fun, come around 11:15 a.m. The other Fridays in May will be spent having normal story time at the library that you are also invited to join. We would love to see some new faces in our group.

ADELPHOI VILLAGE FOSTER AND ADOPTION

Wednesday, May 4th from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday, May 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Adelpoi Village will be holding two sessions about becoming a foster or adoptive family. Please come out and support all of the needy children, as every child deserves to have a family and home. Set up an appointment with Mr. Paul Johnson @ 724-838–9074 or at www.adephio.org.

AVON FUNDRAISER

Come join Chantal, our local Donora Avon Representative. She will be holding an Avon sale and jewelry sale on Saturday, May 21st @ 2 p.m. All proceeds will be divided up between helping the Donora Public Library, the Donora Food Bank, and the Donora Volunteer Fire Department. So come on down and help support our community!

INTERVIEW ASSISTANCE

Do you have a job interview coming up?  Mike Enright will be offering his service FREE to the public. Anyone in the community that is 18 or older can get assistance in filling out job applications and help being preparing for an interview. Call Angela at the library and she will be more than happy to make an appointment for you.
