A recent survey reports that 65 % of U.S. households own a pet, and it is estimated in 2015 we will spend over $60 billion dollars on our animal friends.
Visit with many local business involved with pet care at the Fall Animal Fair at Peters Township Public Library on Saturday, September 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. Angel Ridge and the Washington Area Humane Society will offer animals available for adoption at the fair.
Special events for the day will include a reading of the newly-discovered Dr. Seuss book What Pet Should I Get? with Myra Oleynik, library director, at noon, followed by a visit from the Washington Wild Thing mascot at 12:30 p.m.
Sixteen different organizations and businesses to date will participate in the fair.
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with all the participants, who will be distributing samples and coupons. Pet product donations are being accepted for the Washington Area Humane Society in the lobby through the day of the fair. Registration is not required to attend this free event which is being offered for animal lovers of all ages. Please do not bring pets to the fair. Call the library at 724.941.9430 for more information
