Preschool Alphabet Parade – Friday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m.

Fun stories, songs, activities, and a craft for children ages 3-5 with a caregiver. We will travel through the alphabet and feature a letter each week. No registration required.

Teen Screen Fridays – Friday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m.

Come to the library to relax, take in a teen movie, and have some delicious snacks and drinks! Registration required. Age of Ultron Movie Release Party – we will be showing Captain America: The Winter Soldier – PG-13

Dance Me a Story with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater – Saturday, May 2 at 10 a.m.

3-5 year olds can move and groove their bodies to dance out some favorite early childhood. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate with their child! Registration required.

Preserving the Harvest - Saturday May 2 at 1 p.m.

Come to this class and learn the basics of canning, drying, and freezing. Registration required.

Beginner Tai Chi – Monday, May 4 at 9 a.m.

Please join instructor Gurney Bolster for 8 weeks of Beginner Tai Chi classes. Cost: $64 for 8 weeks (payable to Gurney at first class). Registration required.

Continuing Tai Chi – Monday, May 4 at 10:15 a.m.

This relaxing exercise course is great for maintaining balance, as well as helpful for the aches of arthritis. Registration required. Cost: $80 for 10 weeks (payable to Gurney at the first class).

Watercolor Classes with Sue Levy – Tuesday, May 5 at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Local watercolorist Sue Levy is back by popular demand to instruct beginner and intermediate students during four Tuesdays in May. Registration is required and the cost is $20 per person/per class. Please contact Sue at 412-221-2332 for a list of supplies needed for these classes. You are invited to bring a lunch along, if desired. Dates: May 5, 12, 19, 26

Bouncing Babies and Books – Tuesday, May 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 10:30 a.m.

This storytime, for babies birth-24 months, will include a book, lots of singing, some musical instruments, and a lot of fun for you and your baby!

Spring Travel Series – Tuesday, May 5 at 7 p.m.

No registration is needed for this six-week series.

Family Block Party – Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Your children can construct, apply mathematical, social, and fine motor skills and have the opportunity for dramatic and imaginative play all through the use of wooden blocks, animals, dinosaurs, cars, and so much more! Registration required

Family Craft Me a Story – Thursday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m.

A story, songs, musical instruments, parachute play, bubbles, and a related craft at each session! No registration required.

Fancy Nancy Mother’s Day Tea – Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m.

Tea sandwiches, tea cookies and desserts, tea crafts, tea stories, and much more! Registration required.

Landscaping in Deer Country - Saturday May 9 at 1 p.m.

Is there anything we can do to discourage deer from destroying our gardens? In this presentation the facts about our 'enemy' and how to use these facts to the gardener's advantage will be discussed. Registration required.

Hoopla & Freegal: Music, Movies & More! - Monday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.

With your library card you can download and stream music, TV shows & movies through Hoopla. You can also download five songs a week with Freegal, another great library eResource. Come learn how to use these resources. Registration required.

Digital Photos: Maximize Your Memories - Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Want to learn an overview of saving, organizing, printing and editing your digital photos? Join us for an overview of programs such as iPhoto, Picasa and Flickr. Registration required.

Bees, Bees, Bees! The Plight of Honeybees (Presented by Burgh’s Bees) - Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m.
